Disability Royal Commission

The Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability was established in April 2019.

Disability Royal Commission

We seek to understand more about the process, to demonstrate our support for the work of the Royal Commission and to find out what the Royal Commission will likely mean for our participants, their families and our workforce.

This Royal Commission has been established to make inquiries into the following matters:

    • how to prevent, and better protect, people with disability from experiencing violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation;
    • what might be done to achieve best practice in reporting and investigating of, and responding to violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation; and
    • how to promote a more inclusive society that supports the independence of people with disability and their right to live free from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.
Life Choice supports the Disability Royal Commission.

While Life Choice has not been called to provide information to the Royal Commission, we are considering how we might contribute to the Royal Commission about our experiences supporting people with disabilities and their families for over 30 years.

We welcome your input into the information Life Choice might share with Royal Commission about our work. We will engage with the Royal Commission as requested and will provide all the necessary support to our employees if they are called by the Royal Commission to provide information.
